Dr. Zelken Now Offers AccuTite! The first in Orange County!
BodyTite and FaceTite technology are really starting to take off. More recently you have heard of celebrities and housewives foregoing the knife and opting for alternatives to excisional surgeries. Both BodyTite and FaceTite fall under the umbrella of radio frequency assisted lipolysis. What this means is that radio frequency energy, in the form of heat is used to directly burn fat in the deeper tissues of the face, arms, body, and legs. While there is a direct fat burning effect, the real magic is a result of the collagen formation and remodeling that comes as a result of long-term post inflammatory change in the deeper tissues. Of course, this is a carefully controlled energy source. Heat is capped by internal thermometers both on the surface of the skin and deep where the energy probe is working. This allows us to deliver just the right amount of energy to cause collagen formation without actually injuring tissue. Only after we perform the radio frequency healing process do we perform traditional liposuction. The amount of liposuction performed is, of course, case-dependent.
The biggest differences between BodyTite and FaceTite are the size of the handpiece used, and the amount of energy used in treatment of those areas. The BodyTite handpiece is much larger and covers a greater surface area. This is why we prefer a larger wand for areas like the thighs, and the knees, the tummy, and the arms. Using a large wand for the face is possible, but it is not as accurate and may not be as safe. In addition, we need to use lower more precise energy transmission to prevent injuries to nerves and other important structures. The FaceTite wand, therefore, is just a bit smaller than the BodyTite wand. It is about 10 cm or approximately the length between your knuckle on the tip of his index finger. A smaller probe can navigate difficult topographic areas like the jawline, the jowls, and the neck. FaceTite can also be used on areas like the fatty upper breast area where the breasts intersects with the armpit, the upper knee area, and even the breasts themselves for a scarless lift.
But did you know there is an even smaller probe? Dr. Jonathan Zelken is the only provider in Orange County who offers AccuTite. AccuTite is the newest innovation from Inmode, the company that manufactures both BodyTite and FaceTite handpieces. This is a very exciting new addition to our radiofrequency tightening armamentarium. This new handpiece, about the size of half a pencil, allows Dr. Zelken to navigate areas that neither BodyTite nor FaceTite could previously navigate. We’re talking about the forehead, the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, the jowls, and other hard to reach areas. The probe diameter’s even smaller than the FaceTite probe. The scars left behind are minuscule, and this procedure seldom necessitates liposuction as an adjunctive procedure. Whereas Dr. Zelken always perform some degree of liposuction with FaceTite and BodyTite, the AccuTite areas treated are so small that in many cases he can forgo this component. This makes the procedure quicker, recover faster, and there is even less downtime.
The underlying mechanism and technology are identical whereas we are causing a carefully controlled deep thermal injury with the intent of long-term collagenesis and remodeling. What better way to reverse time then to tighten structures that have loosened with gravity and time? There still may be no alternative to surgical excisional procedures like blepharoplasty, facelift, and brachioplasty, but for those who do not want the scars or downtime, this is clearly the next best thing. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to call our office for a consultation. We are so proud to offer the entire InMode radio frequency menu of services including AccuTite, BodyTite, and FaceTite.
